We've been living with an ogre...

My little boy is growing up to be an ogre. He got the lead role in a local kids theater production of Shrek. He's never done anything quite like this before and he was amazing and we're so proud of him for working so hard and improving so much, but most of all for throwing himself out there.

More Digital

Ok. So this one's not completely digital. It started out with a pencil sketch on tracing paper. But- the original sketch is now invisible, and all the lines you see here were made in the computer. Mostly thanks to Stumpy Pencil.

Digital Art

I recently met illustrators Lita Judge and Christopher Denise and learned a few things from them about sketching and creating digitally. This is me playing around with some of these crazy new fangled ideas. This could be fun!

snowy sunrise

The children were reclaimed by school today for a few hours between snow storms and February break- delayed opening.

I went for a little walk at sunrise, while the kids slept in.

And while i was out, the dog peed on the rug.
Note to self: dogs don't need to sleep in.

The Princess Bride

Another snow day. Gotta say, I'm still loving the days off, even though I think now we've got make-ups. The school sent us a message that the kids had to be sure to check for extra work assignments and to make sure to be productive. Our productivity today: I introduced them to the movie, The Princess Bride.

They didn't like it very much.

Just kidding.

What's not to love?!

A Squirrel's Snow Day

I've been putting bird seed right outside our sliding glass doors, so I can get up close and personal with a few neighbors...

I've been outdone!

By my sister! And her little guys...

Super cute!

Snowpeople with Character

I can proudly say that I take no credit whatsoever in these glorious snowpeople!
I didn't lift a finger
(except to press the shutter release on my camera, and then, not so much lifting as pressing).

 These are the culprits.
Yes, I'm proud of them.

 The finishing touch!

The last girl standing- a devoted snow sculptor, solely responsible for snowlady and snowdoggy.

A gratuitous birdy.
